Foot chase down railroad tracks - Arrest made

 

 

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Mikey Ashurst arrested a Lily Road resident early Thursday morning March 5, 2015 at approximately 3:25 A.M..

Arrested was Jerry Vaughn age 47 Of Lily Road, London, KY.

The arrest occurred off North Stewart Road, approximately 10 miles south of London after Deputy Ashurst was dispatched to a disturbance complaint allegedly involving an intoxicated male subject that had assaulted his girlfriend and broke out the front windows of his sister's residence.

As Deputy Ashurst arrived at the scene, he observed a male subject a short distance away from the residence and near railroad tracks. As the subject observed Deputy Ashurst, he attempted to flee on foot for over 150 yards down the railroad track before Deputy Ashurst was able to catch up to him. A brief struggle occurred as this subject was arrested.

Deputy Ashurst learned that this subject had apparently struck his girlfriend in the face and broke out the front window of his sister's residence. He also allegedly kicked the screen door glass out. Deputy Ashurst also determined that this subject was under the influence.

Jerry Vaughn was charged with assault – fourth degree – domestic violence; fleeing or evading police – second degree – on foot; alcohol intoxication in a public place ; criminal mischief second degree; resisting arrest; disorderly conduct second-degree.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court regarding a charge of possession of a controlled substance first offense – second-degree; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jerry Vaughn was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
