(LONDON, KY.) – On Thursday, March 06, 2015 at approximately 11:57 PM troopers from Post- 11, along with Laurel County Constable Denver Mays executed an arrest warrant at a residence located on US 25, eight (8) miles north of London in Laurel County.
Arrested on the warrant was Leonard Jones, 49, of East Bernstadt, KY and charged with Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree 2nd Offense, Drug Paraphernalia Possession and Persistent Felony Offender 2nd.
The investigation began on Friday, February 27, 2015 after KSP SGT Steve Walker and Constable Mays conducted a traffic stop on Jones on an access road in the city limits of London. During the traffic stop Jones was placed in the back seat of Constable Mays Cruiser for a short period of time.
After releasing Jones, a search of the back seat area was conducted and one plastic bag containing 14 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, two syringes and a glass pipe were located.
Jones was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
KSP SGT Steve Walker continues the investigation. Assisting in the arrest was Post 11 troopers and Constable Denver Mays.
