Criminal Investigation and Arrest / Wayne County

(LONDON, KY.) – On Monday, March 09, 2015 at approximately 6:15 PM, Kentucky State Police Post 11, London received a call for assistance from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office on a possible barricade / hostage situation at a residence on KY HWY 834 in Wayne County.

Upon arrival, Troopers learned Theresa A. Williams, 47, of Bronston, KY was inside the residence and alleging that she had her husband held hostage.

After several failed attempts to negotiate with Williams by phone, Troopers gained entry into the residence and used a Taser device. After the Taser deployment, Williams was taken into custody without further incident.

A search of the residence was conducted and it was determined that Williams was alone inside the residence.

She was arrested at the scene and lodged in the Wayne County Detention Center on charges of Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree, Arson 2nd Degree, Menacing, Resisting Arrest, Terroristic Threatening 3rd Degree, Disorderly Conduct and Alcohol Intoxication.

Trooper Adam Childress is continuing the investigation and was assisted at the scene by Troopers from Post 11, Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, Monticello Police Department, Kentucky Fish and Wildlife Officers, Wayne County EMS and the Susie Fire Department.
