Shoplifting, Criminal Trespassing and other charges

 

 

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Sgt. Robbie Grimes along with Deputy Rick Cloyd arrested Kathryn Emmert age 40 of Hill Court, Lexington on Friday afternoon March 13, 2015 at approximately 4:59 P.M..

The arrest occurred at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County after Walmart's loss prevention team detained this subject.

When deputies arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation they learned that this subject had allegedly been observed attempting to unlawfully remove items from the store without paying.

In addition, this subject had previously been advised by Walmart to not be back on their property due to a previous shoplifting charge.

Kathryn Emmert was charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting and criminal trespassing – third-degree. In addition, this subject was charged on a Fayette County bench warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court on charges of theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting; possession of burglary tools; and possession of a controlled substance third degree.

Kathryn Emmert was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
