Woman accused of attempting to leave store with numerous items including a chainsaw without paying

 

 

 

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Larry Parrott arrested Arlene Keith age 44 of Nuway Trail, Long Fork, Ky. on Sunday evening March 15, 2015 at approximately 6:21 P.M..

The arrest occurred at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County after Walmart's loss prevention team detained this subject.

When Deputy Parrott arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation he learned that this subject had allegedly been observed pulling empty Walmart bags out of her purse and began to place items she had selected throughout the store into those bags.

She then traveled to hardware where she concealed items in her shopping cart. Then she attempted to exit through Lawn and Garden without paying for the merchandise. Total value of theft was more than $609.

Items included a chainsaw, skilsaw, pet leash, batteries, T-shirts, hairstyling, dog treats, watches, carrots, and numerous other items.

Arlene Keith was charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
