Traffic stop leads to multiple charges - London

London , Ky. - LCPD is reporting that officers of the London Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a Chevrolet truck traveling on South US-25.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Jeffrey Brummett of London.

Upon speaking with the passenger of the vehicle, who was identified to be David Brannon of London. Brannon appeared to be under the influence of drugs.

Consent to search the vehicle was granted.

A K-9 unit was used to conduct a search of the vehicle that resulted in an alert on the rear passenger door. Ofc. Greg Turner retrieved what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette and needles from inside the vehicle. A handgun was also located lying underneath the cupholder compartment.

Jeffrey Brummett received a citation for traffic violations.

David Brannon was taken into custody without incident and removed to the Laurel County Correction center where he was charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon, Possession of Firearm by Convicted Felon, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Controlled Substance 2nd Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Public Intoxication.
