Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Larry Parrott arrested Mindy Dugger age 31 of Young Cemetery Road, Corbin on Sunday evening March 22, 2015 at approximately 6:24 P.M.
The arrest occurred at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County after Walmart's loss prevention team detained this subject.
When Deputy Parrott arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation he learned that this subject had allegedly been observed under ringing and bagging items at a self checkout lane, paying for some items but not all items.
Value of the theft was in excess of $36 and included items – paper towels, T-shirt, Pepsi, Mountain Dew, and bleach.
Deputy Parrott charged Mindy Dugger with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting. In addition, Mindy Dugger was charged on a Laurel County warrant of arrest charging failure to appear in court regarding a charge of possession of a controlled substance – -3rd degree; and prescription controlled substances not in proper container – first offense.
Mindy Dugger was lodged in the Laurel County detention Center.
