UPDATE - On double murder at Lily / Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root reports that AMVETS Post #116 in southern Laurel County is offering a $2,200 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the the double homicide of a Lily, KY couple.

The London Laurel County Crime Stoppers continues to offer a $1,000 reward This brings the total reward offered to $3,200.

Detective Charlie Loomis is continuing to investigate the double homicide after the discovery of two individuals found deceased at the scene of a house fire on Slate Ridge Road approximately 8 miles south of London on Sunday morning March 8, 2015 at approximately 10:06 A.M..

The victims were identified as Donnie Jackson and Sharon Jackson, husband and wife, both found with gunshot wounds, and pronounced dead at the scene. A fire, of undetermined origin and cause, had occurred at the scene.

An autopsy in Frankfort on 3-9-15 confirmed the deaths of Donnie and Sharon Jackson were the result of gunshot wounds in a manner consistent with homicide.

Detective Charlie Loomis has followed up on numerous tips and information developed on this investigation. We continue to urge the public to call or contact the Laurel County Sheriff's Office with any tips or information on this case.
