KSP Charges Henderson Co. Man with Possession of Child Pornography

 

 

(Henderson, Ky.) - On March 30, 2015, at approximately 4:30 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, assisted by KSP Post 16-Henderson, arrested Leonard A. Gehret, 62, for charges related to possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

Gehret was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation which began in March. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect in possession of suspected child sexual exploitation materials while at work. At the time of offense, Gehret was employed at John James Audubon State Park.

The investigation resulted in the execution of search warrants at Gehret's residence and office on March 30, 2015. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP's forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Gehret is currently charged with 18 counts of possession of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. All charges are Class D Felonies with each count punishable by one to five years in prison.

Gehret was lodged in the Henderson County Detention Center.
