Complaint from Laurel 911 dispatch on car driving from the Clay County area

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Larry Parrott along with Constable Chris Webb arrested Tiffany Smith age 34 of W. Laurel Rd., London on Wednesday afternoon April 1, 2015 at approximately 1:43 P.M..

The arrest occurred on E. Laurel Rd., approximately 10 miles east of London after officers received a complaint from Laurel 911 dispatch that a white colored Nissan Altima was driving from the Clay County area and the driver appeared to be impaired and all over the roadway.

When officers encountered the vehicle they observed it to be driving erratically and the driver allegedly texting while driving.

Following an investigation, the driver was determined to be under the influence.

Tiffany Smith was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense; failure to wear seatbelts; driving a motor vehicle texting; and other traffic violations.

In addition, this subject was charged on a parole violation warrant.

Tiffany Smith was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
