Death after minor traffic crash on KY 552 - Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Laurel Sheriff Sgt. Brett Reeves along with KSP Trooper Chris Saunders were dispatched to a single vehicle traffic crash which occurred on Ky 552, approximately 6 miles south of London in front of the Lily fire department early Friday morning April 3, 2015 at approximately 12:22 A.M.

When officers and fire department personnel arrived at the scene, they removed the unresponsive driver of the vehicle and began CPR until EMS arrived.

Investigating officers reported that apparently a white colored 2000 Chevrolet Impala had ran off the road way at an apparent slow rate of speed causing very little damage to the vehicle. The driver and only occupant of the vehicle was transported by Ambulance Inc. of Laurel County to St. Joseph Hospital London where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver was identified as Billy Brandenburg age 48 Kay Lane, Lily.

It is believed that the cause of death was a medical emergency, however, cause of the death remains under investigation by Laurel Sheriff's Sgt. Brett Reeves, and the Laurel County Coroner's Office.

Assisting at the scene was Lily Volunteer Fire Department.

Also assisting on the investigation is the Laurel County Coroner's Office.
