Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Andrew Lawson arrested Patrick Philpot age 25 of Parker Road, London early Saturday morning April 11, 2015 at approximately 12:52 A.M..
The arrest occurred on Jerry's road, in London after Deputy Lawson, who was on routine patrol, observed a blue Chrysler Sebring with a broken tail light lens, and conducted a traffic stop on it.
Upon approaching the driver of the vehicle, the odor of marijuana was detected.
Deputy Lawson conducted an investigation on the driver determining that he was under the influence.
In addition, this subject was found to be in possession of marijuana packaged for individual sale, digital scales, and a large amount of US currency.
Patrick Philpot was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; possession of drug paraphernalia; trafficking in marijuana less than 8 ounces – first offense; possession of marijuana; improper equipment and other traffic violations.
In addition this subject was charged on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court regarding a traffic violation.
Patrick Philpot was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. KSP Trooper Chris Saunders assisted on the investigation and arrest.
