Wanted subject arrested in Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Rick Cloyd along with shift commander Sgt. Robbie Grimes and Deputy Brandon Broughton arrested Edward Ernsting age 28 of 16th St., Corbin on Saturday night April 11, 2015 at approximately 9:04 P.M..

The arrest occurred off US 25, approximately 8 miles south of London where deputies had conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle and noticed suspicious behavior from a passenger in the vehicle. That passenger gave deputies a false name.

Further investigation conducted by deputies determined that this subject was a wanted fugitive from Blount County, Tennessee on charges of prescription fraud and that Tennessee would extradite this individual.

In addition, this subject was wanted on a Whitley County bench warrant of arrest charging theft by deception regarding a Toyota car. In addition, this subject was wanted in Whitley County on a bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court regarding a charge of theft by failure to make required disposition of property.

Edward Ernsting was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
