KSP Charges Franklin Co. Man With Distribution and Possession of Child Pornography

(Frankfort, Ky.)— On April 23, 2015, at approximately 6:20 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, assisted by the Frankfort Police Dept., arrested Robert H. Devin, 27, for charges related to possession and distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor.

Devin was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation, which began in March. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online. This included images and videos of prepubescent children engaged in sexual acts.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Devin’s residence on April 24, 2015. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Devin is currently charged with 20 counts of possession and four counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor. Each count is a Class D felony, punishable by one to five years in prison.

Devin was lodged in the Franklin County Detention Center. A photograph is available on the detention center’s website.
