Hindering first responders ability to perform their duties - Laurel Co. KY

 

 

 

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Brandon Broughton arrested Johnny McCloskey age 23 of Lily Rd., London on Sunday night April 26, 2015 at approximately 8:26 P.M.

The arrest occurred off Gray Lane, approximately 5 miles south of London after deputies along with Lily Volunteer Fire department personnel responded to a complaint of a male subject allegedly burning tires in his backyard in close proximity to a neighbor's house.

When Deputy Brouhton arrived at the scene he observed this subject cursing and creating a disturbance to nearby neighbors and fire department personnel who were on the scene to extinguish the fire.

As Fire Chief Paul Collins attempted to gather information at the scene, this subject continued to curse and create a disturbance and exhibited a threatening stance to first responders hindering their ability to perform their duties.

Johnny McCloskey was charged with disorderly conduct – second degree; menacing; fire hazards – Bon Fire within 150 feet of a house or building; and setting fire on land without taking precautions.

This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.Investigation is continuing.
