Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Larry Parrott arrested Willard Thompson age 58 of Vanzant Road, Lily, Ky. on Tuesday night April 28, 2015 at approximately 9:45 PM.
The arrest occurred on Vanzant Road approximately 6 miles south of London after deputies were dispatched to a non-injury motor vehicle traffic crash there.
Upon arrival, Deputy Parrott determined that a white colored Pontiac Grand Am driven by Willard Thompson had allegedly crossed over the center line and struck an oncoming Pontiac Aztec SUV.
Deputy Parrott detected the odor of alcoholic beverages emitting from Willard Thompson and conducted an investigation determining that he was under the influence.
The subject stated he had drank five or six beers.
Willard Thompson was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense (Aggravated Circumstances) and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
