KSP Investigates Fatal Collision in Lincoln County

(Stanford, KY) — The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post is investigating a fatal collision that killed one man in Lincoln County this morning.

The collision occurred on Highway 27, south of Stanford just before 2:00 a.m. EDT.

The initial investigation indicates that a 2001 Red Pontiac passenger vehicle was slowed or stopped in the left lane of the southbound lanes, and was struck by a 2004 Silver Pontiac passenger vehicle that was also traveling south. The impact of the collision pushed the 2001 Pontiac off the roadway, where it overturned and caught on fire.

The driver of the 2001 Pontiac was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Lincoln County Coroner.

The driver and passenger in the 2004 Pontiac were uninjured in the collision.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by Trooper Albert Lagrange
