Man wanted on warrant of arrest nabbed - Laurel County, KY

 

 

 

Laurel, County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Andrew Lawson arrested Nicholas Coffey age 34 of Smith Brewer Road, London early Wednesday morning April 29, 2015 at approximately 2:40 AM.

The arrest occurred off Slate Ridge Road, approximately 6 miles south of London after Deputy Lawson was dispatched to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle --a silver colored Dodge Ram Pickup-- traveling on American Greeting Card road.

As Deputy Lawson responded to the location of the complaint he observed a vehicle on Slate Ridge Road fitting the description of the vehicle from American Greeting Card road.

Deputy Lawson conducted a traffic stop and learned from its driver, that he had been driving back and forth on American Greeting Card Road. Deputy Lawson conducted further investigation, and determined this subject to be under the influence.

Nicholas Coffey was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; failure to wear seatbelts; rear license plate not illuminated; and failure owner to maintain required insurance – first offense.

In addition, this subject was wanted on a Laurel County warrant of arrest charging theft by unlawful taking – allegedly this subject went to Walmart and selected a TV stand, floor mats, and an item from the infant's Department, then went to the service desk and asked for a return and received a $176.96 gift card.

Nicholas Coffey was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
