LSO to conduct second town hall meeting at Keavy Fire Department in Laurel County, KY

Laurel County, Ky. - The Laurel County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting another Town Hall Meeting at the Keavy Fire Department building located on Ky 312, ten miles south of London on Tuesday, May 12th, 2015 at 6 P.M.

Sheriff John Root, Major Rodney Vanzant, Captain Chuck Johnson, Lt. Greg Poynter, Public Affairs Deputy Gilbert Acciardo, and other sheriff’s office deputies will all be in attendance.

Sheriff Root promised the people of Laurel County that he would conduct town hall meetings regularly all over Laurel County. All fire departments in Laurel County have been visited by Sheriff Root and his staff, along with other county officials.

This meeting will be the second visit at Keavy to continue revisiting all areas of Laurel County again.

This will be another occasion for citizens to meet their sheriff and other “elected” county officials, and to ask questions.

Topics to be discussed will be the number of complaint calls, the number of drug arrests in Laurel county, and other issues and concerns occurring in their community. According to Sheriff Root “We will also open up the floor to hear what you the people have to say about your sheriff’s office.”

Numerous other elected officials will be in attendance as well.

At previous meetings, other county officials in attendance included: County Clerk Dean Johnson, Circuit Clerk Roger Schott, County Judge Executive David Westerfield, County Attorney Jodi Albright, Commonwealth Attorney Jackie Steele, County Jailer Jamie Mosley, and PVA Joyce Parker, judges and magistrates for their respective districts, and constables for their districts.

“Make sure to make plans to be in attendance. We look forward to seeing each of you and discussing your concerns as a group about Laurel County.” said Sheriff Root.
