(Berea, KY) - The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, is investigating a single vehicle collision that happened around 11:30 a.m. yesterday morning, on HWY 21, just west of Berea.
The initial investigation has revealed that Jeffrey Grider, 52 years old of Berea, was driving a 2007 Ford Escape east on HWY-21 toward Berea, when he drove off the left side of the road and struck a culvert. Grider was transported to Saint Joseph Hospital in Berea, where he was pronounced deceased by the Madison County Coroner.
The ongoing investigation indicates that Jeffrey Grider died as a result of a medical emergency that happened while he was operating his vehicle, which led to the collision.
The investigation is being conducted by Trooper Aaron Hall. He was assisted at the scene by KSP Personnel, Madison County EMS, Madison County Fire & Rescue, and the Madison County Coroner.
