KSP Conducts Death Investigation in Clark County

(Winchester, KY) – The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post was called just before 12:30 a.m. EDT today, following a fight that left one man dead and another man injured off of Athens-Boonesboro Road in Clark County.

Investigators from KSP Post 7, Clark County Coroner’s Office, and the Clark County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene, and located Roy E. Combs, 25 years old of Richmond, deceased at the scene.

The initial investigation indicates that Roy Combs died as a result of a gunshot wound, following an altercation. The initial investigation also indicates that one other person sustained non-life threatening injuries as a result of the same altercation.

The events that led to the shooting are still under investigation.

There have not been any arrests made and the Kentucky State Police is asking anyone that saw any suspicious activity in the area or with any information to call (859) 623-2404 or toll free at (800) 222-5555.

The ongoing investigation is being conducted by KSP Detective Michael Keeton.
