Fleeing alleged shoplifter runs into Sheriff's Deputy - Laurel County, KY



Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Shawn Jackson arrested a Corbin man on Monday night May 25, 2015 at approximately 11:35 P.M.  

Arrested was William Feydo age 22 of Sherry Ave., Corbin, KY.

The arrest occurred near Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County and occurred as Deputy Jackson was investigating an earlier shoplifting complaint where a subject had fled into the woods.

As Deputy Jackson came out of the woods where he had been looking for that male subject who had fled earlier, he observed Walmart's loss prevention team making contact with another male subject who allegedly had been involved in another shoplifting theft--allegedly the male subject was cursing, yelling, and creating a disturbance in the parking lot there at Walmart.

As this male subject attempted to flee down a trail located near Walmart he ran into Deputy Jackson on the same trail

Following a short scuffle with Deputy Jackson, William Feydo was taken into custody.

This subject was charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting; disorderly conduct – second degree; resisting arrest; and public intoxication – controlled substances.

As the subject was being escorted to the police car he continued to create a disturbance there.

This subject allegedly took a ball cap without paying for it.

William Feydo was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
