Theft and trespassing arrest - Laurel County



Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Shawn Jackson arrested Timothy Simpson age 32 of West Hwy. 1376, East Bernstadt early Tuesday morning June 9, 2015 at approximately 5:10 A.M.

The arrest occurred on Ky 490 approximately 6 miles north of London after Deputy Jackson was dispatched to a complaint that a male subject was on another person's property taking parts off someone else's Jeep that was parked in the driveway at the residence.

Prior to Deputy Jackson's arrival at the scene, the victim called 911 reporting that the male suspect there had fled the scene.

When Deputy Jackson arrived at the scene he learned that the suspect and the victim had allegedly been involved in an altercation and the suspect had fled into a creek under a bridge off Highway 490.

When Deputy Jackson confronted the suspect, he became combative and following a short scuffle with Deputy Jackson, the suspect was arrested.

This subject continued to scream, yell, and cursed creating a scene on the side of the road where several persons had stopped in the road during the arrest.

Deputy Jackson reports that the subject stated he had been doing meth.

Timothy Simpson was charged with criminal trespassing – second degree; theft by unlawful taking $500 or more; disorderly conduct – second degree; menacing; resisting arrest; and public intoxication – controlled substances.

Timothy Simpson was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
