Accused shoplifter charged with outstanding warrants of arrest - Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Sgt. Robbie Grimes arrested two individuals at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County on Wednesday afternoon June 10, 2015 at approximately 4:30 P.M.

When deputies arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation they learned that Walmart's loss prevention team had detained two subjects who had attempted to leave the store without paying for items valued at $85.44.

In addition, it was determined that the male subject was a wanted individual.

Arrested was Richard Cleveringa II age 41 of Gordon Hill Pike, Corbin charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting.

In addition this subject was charged with a Whitley County bench warrant of arrest for drug court violation regarding arrests for possession of a controlled substance and on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court regarding a charge of theft by unlawful taking.

Also arrested was Michele Borders age 35 of Ky 3436, Corbin charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting. Both individuals were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
