One Critical Following Stabbing - Knox County

(Gray, KY) – A Knox County Man is in critical condition after being stabbed on Friday evening. Kentucky State Police Post 10 in Harlan received a call shortly after 5:30 p.m.

Nurses from Baptist Health in Corbin reported that they had a male subject in their Emergency department who had been dropped off by unknown persons.

Their patient, who was identified as Michael Shane McCormick, had been stabbed in the chest in the Moore Hill community of Knox County.

KSP Detective Bryan E. Johnson and troopers Joshua Messer, Wayne Hensley, and Joshua Cox responded to the hospital.

Mr. McCormick was stabilized at the emergency room and later transported to UK Medical Center in Lexington.

Investigation into this incident continues by Det. Johnson.
