Kentucky State Police Arrest Frankfort Man After Pursuit

(Frankfort, KY.) - On July 07, 2015 at approximately, 11:23 p.m., Kentucky State Police arrest a Frankfort man after a traffic stop turns into a pursuit in Franklin County.

KSP Units were conducting a drug investigation on Bald Knob Road, Franklin County. Units attempted to stop a blue 2003 Honda Accord, driven by Daniel Rhine, age 37, of Frankfort. Rhine stopped, and as Officers approached his vehicle, Rhine sped rapidly from the scene, toward the Troopers. In an effort to defend himself, the Trooper fired multiple rounds at the vehicle. KSP Units pursued Rhine, who crashed his vehicle on River Ridge Road, Frankfort.

Daniel Rhine was transported to Franklin County Medical Center for minor injuries as a result of the collision.

Daniel Rhine is being charged with Trafficking Controlled 1st Degree, 1st Offense, Cocaine (3 counts). Additional traffic charges pending.

Kentucky State Police was assisted at the scene by Frankfort Fire/EMS.
