Convicted felon with outstanding warrant found with firearm passed out in car - Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Brandon Broughton along with Deputy Tommy Houston and Deputy Rick Cloyd arrested Stanley Elliott age 49 of Dowes Chapel Rd., Woodbine on Sunday night July 5, 2015 at approximately 9:36 PM.

The arrest occurred off Highway 770 after deputies were dispatched to a complaint that a male subject was passed out in a vehicle at a business parking lot there.

When deputies arrived at the scene they located this subject passed out in the vehicle and conducted an investigation determining that he was under the influence.

In addition, deputies found this subject in possession of two containers with 2 plastic baggies containing suspected methamphetamine. Deputies also found this subject in possession of unknown pills in another baggie.

In addition, deputies located this subject in possession of a Hi-Point 9 mm handgun.

Two open bottles of vodka were also found in the vehicle.

Stanley Elliott was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – second offense – methamphetamine; trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine; possession of a controlled substance – second-degree; and possession of a firearm by convicted felon.

In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court regarding charges of trafficking in a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense; possession of a firearm by convicted felon; and receiving stolen property.

Stanley Elliott was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
