Commercial Vehicle Accident I-75

(Corbin, KY) - On Tuesday July 21st 2015 around 12:00 A.M. officer Robert Mitchell from the Kentucky State Police-Vehicle Enforcement responded to an accident with injuries located on I-75 near the 20 mile marker in Whitley County Kentucky.

Upon arrival and through investigation Mitchell determined that 74 year old Melvin E. Meadows of Dalton Ga. was operating a 2011 International tractor trailer when he lost control leaving the roadway and overturning in the median.

Meadows was transported to Baptist Health in Corbin and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. Clean up crews were still on scene after daylight cleaning up debris and rolls of carpet that had to be manual off loaded.

Drugs and Alcohol are not suspected factors in the crash and Meadows was not wearing his seat belt at the time crash.

Assisting on scene: Officers from KSP-Vehicle Enforcement, Whitley Co. Sheriff’s Department, Oak Grove Volunteer Fire Department, Kentucky State Highway Department. Officer Robert Mitchell continues the investigation
