Burglary suspect nabbed early Tuesday morning in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Kyle Gray along with Sgt. Brett Reeves, Deputy Shawn Jackson and KSP Trooper Jason McCowan and his K-9 arrested Timmy Fields age 53 Of Jackson Rd., East Bernstadt early Tuesday morning July 21, 2015 at approximately 5:12 AM.

The arrest occurred off Ky 1376 E., approximately 6 miles north of London after officers responded to a complaint of someone breaking into a residence.

When officers arrived at the scene, deputies assisted by Trooper McCowan and his K-9 conducted a search on the inside of the residence and the immediate area outside the residence, where the K-9 picked up a scent of a suspect leading from the residence into the woods behind the residence.

Also witnesses there stated they saw a male subject take off running from the residence into the woods.

A search of the wooded area was conducted and a suspect was located.

Deputies conducted an investigation and learned from area residents that this subject had been observed underneath the residence that had been broken into.

Witnesses also observed this subject enter and exit the residence that had been broken into.

The suspect's vehicle was also found parked next to the residence that had been broken into.

Deputies located screwdrivers in the vehicle and observed pry marks on the residence that had been broken into.

Timothy Fields was charged with burglary - second-degree; Fleeing or Evading Police – second-degree – on foot; possession of burglary tools; and criminal mischief – third-degree – three officers uniforms were torn from searching for the suspect in the woods.

Timothy Fields was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
