(Harlan, Ky.) On July 20, 2015, at 1:15 a.m. Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Harlan received a call from the Harlan County Detention Center.
The Detention Center was requesting an ambulance for an unresponsive inmate, Darrell Wayne Johnson age 49. Mr. Johnson was transported to Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
No foul play is suspected and an autopsy will conducted. Case is still under investigation by Det. Josh Brashears.

UPDATE
On July 21, 2015 the autopsy was conducted on Mr. Johnson at the State Medical Examiners Office in Frankfort.
Preliminary results from the autopsy revealed Mr. Johnson had no trauma to his body.
It appears that Mr. Johnson died from health related issues.
Mr. Johnson was pronounced deceased at Harlan ARH at 2:11 a.m. on July 20, 2015.
