Man accused of hitting female in head several times also charged with DUI & numerous other traffic violations

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Sgt. Robbie Grimes along with Deputy Keith Dinsmore and London Police Officer Randy Medlock arrested Michael Ball age 44 Of Keavy Rd., London on Friday evening July 24, 2015 at approximately 5:01 PM.

The arrest occurred off Finley Trailer park road, approximately 1/2 mile south London after deputies were dispatched to an assault complaint at Finley's Trailer park between this subject and a female victim.

When deputies arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation they learned that this subject had struck a female subject in the head several times.

In addition, during the investigation deputies determined that this subject was the same subject that deputies had observed earlier driving a moped in a very reckless manner northbound on US 25 near the Levi Jackson Park entrance before losing lost sight of the vehicle, and determined during the assault investigation that this subject they arrested for assault had been the same subject driving the moped.

During arrest, deputies found this subject in possession of an open Suboxone strip and an unopened Suboxone strip inside a cigarette pack.  Deputies also located a pill in this subject's possession identified as Clonazpam.

Deputies noted that during booking this subject kept falling asleep and could not stay awake.

Michael Ball was charged with assault – fourth degree; public intoxication – controlled substances; criminal trespassing – third-degree; operating on suspended or revoked operator's license; operating a motor vehicle under the influence – second offense; prescription controlled substances not in proper container – first offense; failure of owner to maintain required insurance – first offense; and numerous other traffic violations.

Michael Ball was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
