KSP Charges Hardin Co. Man With Child Sexual Exploitation Offenses

(Elizabethtown, Ky.)— On August 6, 2015, at approximately 4:00 p.m., the Kentucky State Police Electronic Crime Branch, assisted by Post 4-Elizabethtown, arrested Gregory M. Wingfield, 22, on charges related to distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor and promoting a minor under 16 in a sex performance.

Wingfield was arrested as the result of an undercover Internet Crimes Against Children investigation. The KSP Electronic Crime Branch began the investigation after discovering the suspect sharing images of child sexual exploitation online. In addition, he was contacting juveniles on a popular social networking website, befriending them and seeking nude images.

The investigation resulted in the execution of a search warrant at Wingfield’s residence on August 6, 2015. Equipment used to facilitate the crime was seized and taken to KSP’s forensic laboratory for examination. The investigation is ongoing.

Wingfield is currently charged with three counts of distribution of matter portraying a sex performance by a minor and three counts of promoting a minor under 16 in a sex performance.

Wingfield was lodged in the Hardin County Detention Center. A booking photograph is available on the detention center’s website.
