Laurel County, Kentucky - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Sgt. Larry Parrott arrested Mary E. Brown age 48 of Oak Grove Church Rd., Corbin early Tuesday morning August 18, 2015 at approximately 3:42 AM.
The arrest occurred on West Cumberland Gap Pkwy., approximately 11 miles south of London after Sgt. Parrott observed this subject walk into the path of a motor vehicle and almost get struck. Sgt. Parrott conducted an investigation and learned that this subject had apparently taken Suboxone strips and several Klonipin. In addition, Sgt. Parrott found this subject in possession of another individual's Kentucky benefits card. Mary E. Brown was charged with public intoxication – controlled substances and intent to defraud\scheme\artifice to obtain benefits.
In addition, this subject was charged on a Knox County warrant of arrest charging criminal possession of a forged instrument second-degree and forgery – second-degree.
The subject was also charged on a Knox County bench warrant of arrest for failure to appear in court regarding a charge of receiving stolen property.
Mary E. Brown was also charged on a Laurel County indictment warrant of arrest for trafficking in a controlled substance – second-degree – first offense.
