More charges filed on jailed inmate in Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Detective Kevin Berry placed additional charges on Jason Williams age 22 Of Mullins Rd., London on Thursday afternoon August 27, 2015 at approximately 2:10 PM.

The investigating detective reports that Jason Williams had previously been arrested on August 21, 2015 on charges of harassment – physical contact and criminal mischief – third-degree regarding an alleged incident that occurred between this subject and his girlfriend. Also on the same date, this subject was served with an EPO that stated no contact or communication with the petitioner.

This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center when arrested on that date.

On August 26, 2015 while still lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center, this subject allegedly tried on 10 occasions to make phone contact with his girlfriend, the petitioner, although the EPO served on him stated no contact or communication with the petitioner.

On three of the 10 occasions this subject did make contact with the petitioner, his girlfriend, on a recorded phone line, and allegedly attempted to get the petitioner to drop the charges, and also attempted to bribe the petitioner.

Jason Williams is now also charged with two counts of violation of a Kentucky EPO/DVO; tampering with a witness and bribing a witness. This subject continues to be lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
