*UPDATE* Fatal collision in Knox County - The driver of the F-150 Pickup has been identified

(Corbin, Ky.) On August 31, 2015 at 4:19 p.m. Kentucky State Police, Post 10 Harlan received a call of a fatal collision at the McDonalds off of Master Street in the Corbin community of Knox County. Troopers from Post 10 responded to the scene.

Preliminary investigations indicates that a Ford F-10 pickup truck, driven by a 19 year old was traveling on Commonwealth Ave and then pulled into the parking lot of McDonalds at a high rate of speed. The pickup then struck Norma Hicks, 66, of Parkers Lake as she exited the restaurant.

Norma Hicks was pronounced dead at the scene by the Knox County Deputy Coroner Floyd Blevins.

The 19 year old driver of the truck was not injured in the collision. The driver was taken to Baptist Regional Medical Center in Corbin for a blood test. No charges have been filed at this time.

The collision is still under investigation by KSP Accident Reconstructionist Mike Cornett

UPDATE

The driver of the F-150 Pickup has been identified as Aaron Potter, 19, of Corbin.

Mr. Potter didn’t receive any injuries due to the collision.

No charges are suspected to be filed at this time.
