Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Kyle Gray arrested James Smith age 35 of Mitchell Creek Rd., London on Monday afternoon August 31, 2015 at approximately 5:29 P.M.
The arrest occurred on Old Whitley Road approximately 3 miles south of London after Deputy Gray was dispatched to a non-injury traffic crash there.
Upon arrival at the scene, an investigation was conducted and the driver of a gray Ford Mustang was determined to be under the influence.
James Smith was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; failure of non-owner operator to maintain required insurance – first offense; and operating on suspended or revoked operator's license.
James Smith was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
Off duty Trooper Logan Howell assisted at the scene.
