Marijuana Arrest - Laurel County

(London, KY) On Friday September 4th 2015 around 12:00 A.M. Officer Mike Hamblin with KSP-Vehicle Enforcement stopped a blue 2011 BMW on I-75 near the 37 mile marker in London Kentucky for speeding and expired registration plates.

Upon speaking to the operator and through investigation Hamblin detected an odor or marijuana coming from the operator and inside the vehicle. The operator 23 year old Christopher S. Nolan II of Jeffersonville Indian failed sobriety test and was arrested for Driving under the Influence of Drugs.

Further investigation found the passenger 23 year old Anthony J. Stephenson from Johnson City Tennessee admitted to being under the influence and in possession to Marijuana.

Upon searching the vehicle Hamblin discovered nearly (2) lbs. of marijuana in the passenger compartment and truck areas of the vehicle along with other Paraphernalia that is commonly used with marijuana.

Both Nolan and Stephenson was arrested and lodged in the Laurel Co Detention Center.

Nolan charges included: Speeding, License to be in possession, No Registration Plates, No Registration Receipt, DUI, and Trafficking in Marijuana.

Stephenson charges included: Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Public Intoxication and Trafficking in Marijuana.

Officer Mike Hamblin continues the investigation.
