Laurel County man arrested for possession of methamphetamine

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Detective Jason Back along with Detective James Sizemore, Capt. Chuck Johnson, Lieut. Greg Poynter and Bailiff Cody Faulconer arrested Braden Chaney, age 22, of Green Meadow Dr., London, on Tuesday afternoon, September 22, 2015, at approximately 3:14 PM.

The arrest occurred off Green Meadow Drive, approximately 4 miles south of London after this subject was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance – first-degree – first offense – methamphetamine.

This subject was found in possession of a used needle and a quantity of crystal methamphetamine.  In addition, this subject was charged on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest charging probation violation regarding a charge of forgery – second-degree; charged on a Laurel County bench warrant of arrest on a traffic violation for failure to appear in court; and charged on a Laurel County warrant of arrest charging criminal possession of a forged interment – second-degree.  

This subject allegedly stole checks, forged a signature on the checks and cashed the checks totaling $600.00.

This subject was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
