Laurel County - Business leaders, Ministers, and Citizens attend "Our Lives Matter" rally

Laurel County, Ky. - Sheriff John Root would like to thank all those who came out to the Farmer's Market in downtown London to support the Laurel County law enforcement community on Tuesday night Sept. 22, 2015 at the event "Our Lives Matter"---the community showing support of Law Enforcement Officers.

Several hundred persons from the community including business leaders, ministers, and citizens along with Laurel County Deputies, London City Police Officers, and Kentucky State Police Troopers, KSP Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officers, and U.S. Forest Service law officers were in attendance.

The rally was organized to support law enforcement at a time when tensions between the public and police nationwide are running high after months of criticism and attacks on police. Tuesday's rally was one of many being held across the country.

Sheriff Root stated that he and his deputies really appreciated the tremendous show of support from the community!

He further stated that it is noteworthy that Laurel Countians recognize the good that men and women behind the badge do every day and to know that much of the community appreciates the tough work they do.
