Richmond, KY - The Kentucky State Police, Richmond Post, is investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian, that occurred on Monday, October 5, 2015, at approximately 8:30 p.m., just south of Berea in Madison County.

The initial investigation indicates that Shauna Phillips, 28 years old, of Paint Lick, was driving north on US-25 (Mount Vernon Road) in a 2004 Silver Pontiac passenger vehicle, when Sean Powell, 44 years old of Berea, walked into the path of her vehicle.

Sean Powell was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Madison County Coroner.  It does not appear that Shauna Phillips was under the influence of alcohol, and the cause of the collision is still under investigation.
