"Bears n' Blankets" project - Laurel County

Laurel County, Ky - Sheriff John Root is reporting that First Baptist Church of East Bernstadt presented 30 teddy bears and blankets to Laurel County Sheriff's deputies to carry in their patrol cars as an annual community service project.

These teddy bears will regularly be used to comfort children that are involved in car accidents, domestic disturbances, and traumatic situations.

Deputies have used teddy bears on numerous occasions in Laurel County to comfort children involved in serious incidents, and the need is ongoing.

Sheriff Root would like to thank Pastor Norm Brock and the church family of First Baptist Church of East Bernstadt who have donated to this worthwhile project.

Pictured are the bears and blankets packaged and patrol car ready.
