(Barbourville, Ky.) On October 9, 2015 at approximately 7:08 pm Kentucky State Police, Post 10 was contacted by the Knox County Dispatch requesting Troopers to respond to a motor vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 25E and Bradley Martin Lane in the Barbourville community of Knox County.
Troopers from Post 10 responded to the collision and began an investigation. Preliminary investigation indicates that Teresa Walters, 43, of Barbourville crossed the center lane of travel leaving the roadway and struck an embankment. The vehicle then overturned on its top partially ejecting Ms. Walters from the vehicle. She was transported by Knox County EMS to the Knox County Hospital and pronounced deceased by the Deputy Coroner Floyd Blevins.
Ms. Walters was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the collision.
Collision is still under investigation by Tpr. Wayne Hensley. He was assisted at the scene by Tpr. Chad Gregory, Sgt. Jason Bunch, and Knox Co EMS.
