Trench style coat draws police attention to man in a Knox County courtroom

Knox County, KY - Sheriff Mike Smith is reporting that on October 6, 2015 while inside the Knox County District Court room, officers observed a man wearing an ankle length trench style coat. Because of the unusual warm weather, the officers became concerned of possible safety issues.

When officers took the individual aside and began to question him regarding any concealed weapons, the man pulled a plastic card holder out of his pocket and dropped it on the floor. After dropping the card holder on the floor the man covered it with his foot.

Knox County Deputy Claude Hudson recovered the plastic card holder which contained a white powder substance suspected to be Methamphetamine.

Deputy Hudson arrested Solomon Lyttle age 32 of London, KY charging him with Possession of Controlled Substance 1st Degree, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Tampering with Physical evidence.

Solomon Lyttle was taken to the Knox County Detention Center and while being processed inside the detention center, he threw a pack of cigarettes into one of the cells. Deputy Hudson then charged Solomon Lyttle with Promoting Contraband.
