Laurel County man charged with criminal abuse and wanton endangerment

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Tommy Houston along with Sgt. Larry Parrott arrested Jacob A. Johnson, age 28, of Hawk Creek Rd., London early Wednesday morning, October 14, 2015, at approximately 1:22 AM.

The arrest occurred off of Hawk Creek Road, approximately 8 miles west of London following an investigation conducted by deputies who were dispatched to London St. Joseph Hospital to conduct a possible child abuse investigation after an eight month old female infant was brought in unresponsive.

Following an investigation conducted by deputies, it was determined that apparently Jacob Johnson had taken a Percocet 10 and that he had left one half of a Percocet on a plate laying out in the open and the child while unattended ingested the drug.

Jacob Johnson was charged with criminal abuse – first-degree; wanton endangerment – first-degree; falsely reporting an incident; public intoxication; and disorderly conduct – second-degree.

This subject allegedly told deputies numerous stories about how the child ingested the Percocet before finally telling deputies what actually happened.

Jacob Johnson was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
