Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Milton Storm arrested Jennifer Demott age 25 of Geneva, New York on Sunday morning, October 25, 2015, at approximately 11:23 AM.
The arrest occurred at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County after Walmart's loss prevention team detained this subject.
When Deputy Storm arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation, he learned that this subject had allegedly been observed concealing a jewelry box and watches inside her purse and attempted to leave the store without paying for the merchandise. Total value of the theft was over $52.
Jennifer Demott was charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
