Man flees Clay County Sheriff's Deputies on ATV



Clay County, Ky. - Sheriff Kevin Johnson is reporting an arrest made on Tuesday November 3, 2015 in the Horse Creek community. The arrest occurred after deputies David Caldwell, Dewey Grubb, Taye Napier, and Chief Deputy Chris Curry were doing patrol on Highway 80.

Arrested was:

Rodney Gibbs age 33 of South Highway 421 after he attempted to flee the deputies on his ATV on Paw Paw road about 3 miles west of Manchester.

Mr. Gibbs observed the deputies at Siberts Grocery and then fled up Paw Paw Road to a residence. The Deputies observed Mr. Gibbs attempting to make it inside the residence, but quickly made contact with him.

Deputy Curry observed Mr. Gibbs kick a white container containing numerous xanax bars inside of it under a parked truck that was near by.

Rodney Gibbs was arrested for Operating ATV on Roadway, Fleeing or Evading Police 2nd, Possession of Controlled Substance, 3rd degree, and also Tampering W/Physical Evidence.

Mr. Gibbs was lodged into the Clay County Detention Center.
