Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Charlie Johnson arrested Robert Ferrier, age 42, Of Hemlock Ln., Williamsburg, on Tuesday night, November 17, 2015, at approximately 5:45 PM.
The arrest occurred at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County after Walmart's loss prevention team detained this subject.
When Deputy Johnson arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation, he learned that this subject had allegedly been observed selecting a pre-paid phone and hoodies, taking them to the toy department and concealing them on his person.
This subject attempted to leave the store without paying for the items. Total value of the theft was $130.48.
Robert Ferrier was charged with theft by unlawful taking – shoplifting; and criminal trespassing – second-degree and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
