Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Kyle Gray arrested Jessica Marie Denton age 24 of Short Lane Apartments, Corbin on Wednesday afternoon, November 18, 2015 at approximately 2:40 P.M.
The arrest occurred at Walmart near Corbin in southern Laurel County after Walmart's loss prevention team detained this subject.
When Deputy Gray arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation he learned that this subject had allegedly been observed concealing store merchandise including hair color, Doritos, Cocoa Pebbles, Red Bull energy drink, gloves, ham, a sippy cup and fleece hats and then traveling through the self checkout and attempting to leave the store without paying for all the merchandise she had in her possession.
Total value of the theft was over $102. Jessica Marie Denton was charged with theft by lawful taking – shoplifting and was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
