DUI arrests at traffic stop on KY 192 in Laurel County

Laurel County, KY - Sheriff John Root is reporting that Deputy Shawn Jackson along with Sgt. Larry Parrott and Deputy Tommy Houston arrested three individuals on KY 192 in London on Monday night, November 23, 2015, at approximately 10:35 PM.

The arrests occurred after deputies observed a silver colored Ford F150 pickup weaving on the roadway on I – 75. In addition, the vehicle crossed the centerline and traveled on to the right shoulder almost striking a guard rail there. Deputies conducted a traffic stop determining that the driver and two passengers were under the influence.

The driver was identified as Chris Rogers, age 31, of Old Corbin Pike, Williamsburg, charged with careless driving; operating a motor vehicle under the influence – first offense; and operating on suspended or revoked operator's license – this subject stated he was taking his prescribed medication – Suboxone and Klonopin.

Also arrested was a passenger in the vehicle identified as Melissa Bennett, age 32, of Highway 204 West., Williamsburg, charged with public intoxication – controlled substances – this subject advised that she had been snorting Suboxone.

Also arrested was Casey Adkins, age 38, of Lewis Strunk Rd., Williamsburg, charged with public intoxication – controlled substances – this subject stated he had snorted a Suboxone strip.

All three subjects were lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center.
