Dec. 1, 2015, is #GivingTuesday. This international campaign encourages people to support their favorite causes, after a day of thanksgiving and several days of shopping. #GivingTuesday is a great day to volunteer, promote or donate to nonprofit organizations serving your community. It is also the perfect opportunity to talk to children about the importance of giving back. In southern and eastern Kentucky, PRIDE is a nonprofit organization that will be seeking donations on #GivingTuesday. A donation to PRIDE will fund volunteer cleanups and stewardship lessons for a healthier, cleaner region. For example, $20 will supply volunteers the bags to pick up 5,000 pounds of trash, and $100 will involve 275 students in an environmental education project.
